THE WORK
EQUATION

Something Didn’t Add Up.

I kept hearing about skills shortages and the need for more workers. Meanwhile, I was unemployed, experienced, and struggling to find a genuine opportunity.

The data was there, but buried across reports, spreadsheets and government websites. So I pulled it together and turned it into a visual story comparing population growth, employment, job vacancies and participation — not to tell people what to think, but to make the bigger picture easier to see.

PROJ_#002 — (TRADITIONAL) DIGITAL ART

LOVE LIKE
GHOSTS

Sometimes the best work starts before you know what you’re making.

This began as a quick sketch while listening to Love Like Ghosts by Lord Huron. I went through photos I’d taken over the years, pulled out the ones that felt right, and just went with it. No big plan. No overthinking. Sometimes you just have to trust where it’s going.

Artists can write a lot of bullshit about what inspired a piece and what it’s supposed to mean. Truth is, you might see something completely different to what I saw making it, and that’s kind of the point. Made with Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. Play it with the sound on. Take from it whatever you want.

PROJ_#003 — VFX TOOL

THE OTHER
P/G

Why not build my own VFX playground?

I wanted to bring back the joy of messing around with visual effects—minus the overthinking. As a freelancer, I just can’t justify the subscription costs anymore, and free alternatives always seem to skip the best part of After Effects: the fun of experimenting.

I sat down and wrote a list of exactly what I needed, based on years of using Adobe. I wanted something quick and easy where I could experiment, play around and discover what else I could do. So I used OpenAI Codex as my dev tool and started bringing the project to life. The UI is heavily inspired by the ’80s and ’90s computers I grew up with. Using the software exposed the real design problems, and fixing them took testing, trial and error, and a constant feedback loop to understand what worked, what didn’t and what needed rethinking. Playground is still very much in its testing stages.
